Bonjour

Monet....water lillies
Loved this painting (by Severini I think)
Walking along we looked left and saw Sacre Coeur..we weren't expecting to see it!!!!
Bonjour! We had a lovely day yesterday and the highlight was a visit to the L'Orangerie Art Gallery. It was really good and the main feature in there is several walls covered with paintings by Monet. Everybody there was suitably impressed with the place as it wasn't too big and was easy to get around.
The rest of the day we just walked through the streets looking at things and stopped at Galleries Lafayette, the huge department store and came across the biggest display of womens shoes I have ever seen! Jimmy Choo, Gucci, Chanel, you name it............all the usual brands I buy (LOL), all with astronomical prices!!!!
Haven't decided on todays activities yet........better stop eating pastries though!!!!!!
View out our hotel window...pretty geraniums
Au revoir!

  1. Bonjour Trace

Did you walk up the hill to Sacre Coeur?......We did and from memory were a bit out of breath when we got there as it was quite steep. There were some great views of Paris from there though but obviously not as good as the Eiffel Tower. Well enjoy Paris and those pastries, you will walk it off.

  4. Hi Jan, we didn't walk to Sacre Coeur today but have done a few years ago, the back wouldn't stand it at the moment. I remember the marvellous view from there though. We have done heaps of walking and are still having the odd pastrie!!! Hope you're right about walking it off!!! It is a holiday though so one has to do as the Romans(french in this case) do so to speak!
    Cheers Trace
